Restylane

Restylane

Restylane is a filler designed to plump areas of the skin with lost volume. When placed in the lips, the effect can be subtle to dramatic enhancement of volume, depending on the desired outcome. It is a great option in the lower face for smile lines and downturned lips (marionette lines). Following a detailed consultation with your doctor, numbing cream or ice packs can be placed on the areas to be treated to minimize discomfort. The skin is then cleaned and prepped. The procedure lasts between 10-30 minutes and is well tolerated. Following the procedure, ice packs can be placed on the treated areas to minimize bruising and swelling. Avoiding strenuous exercise, heat, and sun can also decrease the risk of swelling and bruising following your procedure. Restylane is a dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a gel holding water in the skin.
