ProFractional Laser
ProFractional is a laser solution for achieving excellent resurfacing results with minimal downtime. Unlike full field resurfacing treatments of the past, which removed the entire surface area of a treatment site, this treatment ablates narrow-diameter channels into the skin, covering a fraction of the total treatment area. This initiates the body’s wound healing response, while leaving the surrounding tissue intact for rapid healing. The benefits of ProFrac include increased patient comfort, shorter healing times, and tunable results that can range from subtle to dramatic. Prior to the treatment, relaxation medications are given and numbing cream is placed on the skin for up to 1 hour. The skin is then cleansed and prepped and the eyes are protected. The treatment lasts from 20-30 minutes depending on the areas treated and the depth of treatment. Mild-moderate discomfort is felt in the form of heat. Following the procedure, the skin is cooled and moisturized. The heat sensation on the face dissipates rapidly over the first half hour and then feels like a sunburn. Over the next 3-5 days, the skin is pink and has a fine granular feel, and is generally finished peeling between 5-7 days after the treatment on the face. True social downtime is expected for 3-7 days. This laser is designed to treat deeper lines, scars and textural issues in the skin. As with Halo, immediate superficial results are
seen, but continued improvement based on collagen remodeling will occur for 2-3 months., and can last for years.
