Dysport
Fine lines and wrinkles that form due to facial movements can be treated by Dysport. The areas typically treated are frown lines (“elevens”) between the eyebrows, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. Additional areas that can be treated are the ropey bands that form on the neck (platysmal bands), gummy smile, widened jaw due to clenching of the teeth and TMJ, fine lines under the eye (“jelly roll”), a downturned smile, bunny lines on the nose, and a bumpy or pebbly chin (peau d’orange). Botox can be used preventively to stop the formation of deep lines or correctively to erase them. A treatment of Dysport typically takes less than 10 minutes. Dysport involves a small injection with a needle. It is recommended to avoid strenuous activity and avoid pressure and massage to the area treated for 4 hours following the procedure. Although rare, bruising can occur after treatment. Other than that, there is typically no downtime following Dysport and it is considered a “lunch-time” treatment. Results can typically be seen in 4-7 days. The number of units needed to treat each area can vary widely from person to person. A customized treatment plan developed in consultation with your doctor is essential to a treatment, with which we know you will be thrilled.
