Lauren Hughey MD, FAAD

Dr. Hughey is a magna cum laude 1994 graduate of Vanderbilt University and a 2001 AOA honors graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology where she served in the past as Chair of the MOHS committee and as a member of the Dermatopathology Rapid Response Committee.  She also served as a Board member and then President of the Alabama Dermatology Society. She is a founding member of the national organization, The Society of Dermatology Hospitalists. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Dermatologic Society and is a member of the United States Consortium of Cutaneous Lymphoma.

Dr. Hughey devoted the first decade of her career to UAB where she specialized in complex medical dermatology, directed both the Dermatology Consult Service and the Cutaneous Lymphoma Clinic, and served as the Medical Director of Dermatology at the Kirklin Clinic. Dr. Hughey remains a Clinical Associate Professor at UAB and co-directs the multi-disciplinary cutaneous lymphoma clinic with her hematology oncology colleagues.  Dr. Hughey brings the experience of these many years of diverse practice to Renew Dermatology in order to provide stellar comprehensive care to her medical, surgical and cosmetic patients.
