With all the choices, ads, and influencers out there claiming you must use their products, skincare can be overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be! Stick to the A B C’s to help build a great regimen. A – Vitamin A (retinol): Retinols are applied in the evening after cleansing your skin and can come in different variations and strengths. They work by boosting your cellular turnover and are the gold standard in anti-aging products. They can help with hyper-pigmentation, fine lines, acne, tone, and skin texture. We recommend starting with a low concentration and building up as your skin allows. B – Broad Spectrum Sunscreen: If you only use one product this is it – every day. Make sure your sunscreen is broad spectrum meaning it protects against UVA (causes skin aging) and UVB (causes the skin to burn). We recommend an SPF of at least 30 and reapplying throughout the day. Sunscreen comes in all different forms, clear, tinted, mineral, and chemical, and some pull double duty with other skincare ingredients to address additional issues. C – Vitamin C (or another antioxidant): Antioxidants help to protect your skin from external pollutants and free radicals as well as encourages collagen production. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that has been extensively studied. With these three products, you have a great foundation. If your skin has specific needs you can add a product tailored to address your concern.
